we met in 2016 through a mutual bestie of ours, connor barbe. lucky for me, connor kept bringing cort around and eventually we were hanging out just us two. after some very *fun* nights at KSP and binge watching game of thrones together (he had never seen it), cort asked me if i wanted to go to japan with him the next week. i said yes and our first real date was literally in japan!!!!!!! we had the best week of all time drinking all the japanese beers, eating all the ramen, and concocting our own weird way of communicating. a week after we got home, he asked me to be his girlfriend!!!!

this past christmas (2020), i drove up to oklahoma city to spend the first part of the holidays with cort's family (and mine now)!!!! cort had been asking me for a few months if i wanted to go and look at engagement rings together, and i'd just reply with "nah, my friends know what i want." on christmas eve, cort and i were out picking up last minute gifts when he pulled up in front of bc clark's and said we were going to look at rings. i was terrified because i knew what i wanted was expensive and asked him if we could chug a few white claws first (haha) but he wouldn't let me. we ended up finding the most gorg ring ever, and then went back home to drink white russians with the fam and have the best christmas!!!

four days later we flew out to breckenridge, colorado for a family ski trip. it was our last full day and cort was acting so weird, like so weird. we were all trying to head into town for a bar crawl but he just kept pacing around. he then decided that we should all go up to the top of our mountain road to fly the drone and explore. once we got up there, cort asked me to come and take a photo with him, but instead, he proposed!!!!!!!!!! i don't think i've ever heard his voice that high or shaky (eeee)!!!!! i seriously got so lightheaded and just hugged him for so so long. it was seriously the happiest day ever and all we could do after that is say "oh my gosh" and hug each other and talk about how happy kita was going to be!!!!!! we are so freaking happy!!!!!
